85 Days of Prayer

Prayer is simply communicating with God and spending time with Him.  It is expressing the deepest thoughts, feelings and desires of our hearts and minds to God.  

Why Pray? 

Prayer is powerful and effective. It’s our way of connecting with God, who always listens and responds. Embracing prayer deepens our relationship with God, aligns us with His Spirit, and follows Jesus’ example, just as the early believers did.

How Do We Pray?

Jesus taught us how to pray.  Take a moment to reflect on this model prayer.  We’re to pray to our Father (God), in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, with thanksgiving, faith, confession, forgiveness, supplication and intercession.  We’re to pray for people, organizations and events, including each other, His kingdom, the church, leaders and more.  The Bible contains hundreds of verses that teach us how to pray.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. “

– Matthew 6:5-13, ESV
