Holy Week

Holy Week is a time of deep reflection and observance. Beginning with His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, we follow His last supper with the disciples, His betrayal, trial,  and crucifixion, culminating in Jesus Christ’s glorious resurrection. We typically emphasize individual reflection on Christ’s sacrifice for humanity and the church holds special services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday to commemorate His death and resurrection. The week is seen as an opportunity for believers to renew their faith and commitment to live according to the teachings of Jesus.

Good Friday

March 29, 2024

Good Friday is a solemn day that commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death on Calvary. It is observed as a time of reflection and gratitude for the sacrifice Jesus made for the salvation of humanity. We engage in prayer and scripture reading, and contemplate the profound love and grace this act represents in Christian faith.

Prayer Vigil

You are invited to mark the hours of Jesus’ trial, crucifixion, and burial. We will read scripture describing what was happening at that time on the day Jesus was crucified. Participants are invited to come when they can and stay as long as they’re able.

Easter

March 31, 2024

Easter is a significant and sacred day that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, which is considered the cornerstone of Christian faith. We observe Easter with great reverence and joy, emphasizing its importance as a testament to God’s power over death and a promise of eternal life for believers.

Easter Services

Services on Easter Sunday are focused on the resurrection story, often featuring special music, sermons, and sometimes baptisms as a symbol of new life in Christ.

Interested in Getting Baptized on Easter?

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. For centuries, people who have surrendered their lives to Jesus have publicly declared their faith through this ancient symbol of death, burial, and rebirth. Let us know if you would like to speak with a pastor about being baptized on Easter Sunday.
